Earlier this year I scrolled past an Insta story about the the 60 second rule. I promised myself that I'd read more abut it when got home but I forgot. Two days later I'm washing my face and decide oh my what if I count down to the 60 seconds while doing this, and I've gotta tell you that was the most relaxing I've felt while washing my face so late at night.
Early the next morning I googled it and came across an article on the Cosmopolitan featuring Nayamka Roberts_ Smith an Aesthetician.
"Makeup, dirt, and oil are a lot more difficult to remove from the skin than most people realize," Naya tells Cosmo. "So not only do you want to give the cleanser a chance to break down and dissolve products and grime, but taking 60 seconds also makes you pay attention to your skin and what you’re doing—like remembering to cleanse around the edges of your nose, under your chin, and around your hairline."
Safe to say with the 60 second rule even your very cheap cleanser seems to work a lot better than it normally would. It softens and improves the overall evenness of the skin by dissolving sebum blockages.
I'm a little extra so I do this all over my body which has made shower time considerably longer but my skin is loving it.Try it even with your toner and moisturizer. Massage it into the skin for 60 seconds and give the ingredients time to do their magic. You will notice a difference so much sooner than you expect.
