Easter holidays are here and like clock work we are all thinking we need to be at the beach. Who can blame us, after the past three months of hard work and drinking lots of coffee we do need a break and the beach is just perfect. It's relaxing and rejuvenating but its also really and I mean really HOT! so hot that wearing make up feels uncomfortable. Well don't worry no one said you will have to go bare face, here are some products you must carry with you that will keep you looking cute as you brave through the high temps.
BB Cream
BB creams are like a tinted moisturizer, its perfect for covering up 'light' dark spots and giving your skin a flawless finish. You can easily build it up for a full coverage look if you need to. You can also opt to go for a 24hr Light but full coverage foundation like Maybelline Superstay or the Tarte Foundcealer. if you do go the foundation rout pair it with a good long lasting matte primer and skip the powder if you can, or maybe add a very light layer. Pick a BB cream or foundation with SPF to protect your skin from sun damage.
Eyebrow Gel or Tattoo.
The Davis eye Pencil has become a beauty staple especially in Kenya, but I'm sure you've noticed that it wipes of very easily especially when its hot and you are sweating. Leave it at home this Easter season and instead go for an eye brow gel or tattoo. The tattoo sounds like a better option since it will last you about 3/4 days so doing your eyebrows wont be much of a hustle.
Highlighter
This is the time to GLOW* and I'm no longer just talking about highlighting the high points of your cheeks and bridge of your nose, I mean go ham on the body lava. Highlighter will make your skin look so vibrant and healthy. I would recommend more cream based highlighter as powder doesn't sit very well in extreme heat.
Lipstick
If you are wearing light makeup then a nude lipstick or gloss is a prefect topper for your look. Feel free to go for a bold lip too especially in the evening, however make sure whatever you wear on your lips is not drying. I personally like Matte lipsticks because they don't require frequent touch ups like glosses and balms.
Eye liner & Mascara
These two will make your eyes pop. I particularly fancy volumizing mascara. There are a variety of waterproof mascara and liner that will sit pretty all day without needing any touch up.
